Developing a strategic transatlantic approach to food safety

A European Union-United States research collaboration in food safety

EUUS-SAFEFOOD aims to develop a transatlantic strategic alliance, between food-borne zoonoses research networks in the European Union and the United States, in order to develop shared and common research interests on all aspects of microbiological food safety within the total food chain but particularly in the pre-harvest phase of production with the longer term aim of improving international understanding, enhancing scientific capacity to respond to international food borne incidents, harmonising responses to food safety issues and providing evidence-based advice in support of government policies.
